Sushi Go!

You Can’t Go Wrong With Sushi

Sushi Go! is a great lightweight card game. It can appeal to the non-hardcore among us, or to gamers who are in the mood for something quick and fun to play. Imagine 7 Wonders with super-simplified cards and nothing else and you’ll get a good impression of what this game is like to play.

The Breakdown

Decisions: 4/5. In any given hand, your decisions are only as numerous as the cards in your hand. But the real interest comes in trying to guess which cards your opponents are likely to take and which they are likely to pass on. Add that to the time-crunch of the Chopsticks, and it keeps my mind engaged enough for sure!

Artwork: 5/5. The illustrations are charming, and the card colors are easily distinguishable in quick play. Even the quality of the cards themselves is high, and the the metal tin is a nice touch as well.

Replayability: 3/5. This would be a 2 out of 5 if not for the fact that varying the number of players creates a totally different game experience! When playing with two, you have control of exactly 50% of the cards, but when playing with five players you have almost no control or knowledge of what’s coming next.

Awesomeness: 3/5. This is a great game that stays fun. It’s not mindblowing, but I could play a round or two of this every weekend for sure.

TOTAL SCORE: 15/20

Bottom line: Sushi Go! is well worth owning. Every game collection needs games that will appeal to non-gamers, and tired gamers who want to play one more game before going to bed. Highly recommended!
